Impact of Rhizobium biofertilizer on agronomical performance of lentil (BARI Masur-6) in Bangladesh

Excessive nitrogen fertilizer uses in crop field causes surface water pollution, which has a harmful effect on the ecosystem. The study was conducted to reducing use of fertilizers during cultivation pulse and as an alternative increase biofertilizers. Rhizobium can fix atmospheric soil; it be used urea for lentil (BARI Masur-6). leguminosarum isolated from root nodules (Lens culinaris) plants cultured YEMA (Yeast Extract Mannitol Agar) media. screened ground physiological, biochemical environmental conditions. Different doses (20, 40, 60, 80 kg ha-1) liquid were experimental plots. results indicated that biofertilizer with different chemical performed higher than application several level respect plant height, number, chlorophyll content (µg cm-1) number plant-1 variety BARI Masur-6. There optimum relative growth rate (RGR) also observed. levels reason decline growth. Yield yield contributing characters like pod plant-1, seed 1000-grain weight (g), grain (t ha-1), straw biological significantly influenced by application. assembled produced maximum harvest index (%) compare fertilizers. Significant correlation found no nodule, seed, weight, yield. some biomass. Further significant observed between fulfill alternate source promoted much closer farmer’s conventional amount urea.
